When smartwatches first came on the market, they were chunky and unsightly gadgets that only the geekiest technophiles could bear to wear on their wrist every day. Over the past few years, however, smartwatches have evolved into a much more fashionable technology.
More and more fashion brands have entered the smartwatch market or teamed with high-tech brands to offer fashionable smartwatches that can suit the gym as well as the boardroom. Skagen, Fossil and Kate Spade have entered the wearable tech world, and many of the biggest names in the business are making more fashionable smartwatches to meet the increasing demand.
1. Best Smartwatch for Women- Fossil Women's Gen 4 Venture ()
Why We Chose This Product:
The fourth-generation version of the Fossil smartwatch represents the culmination of a design that Fossil has been refining since their first effort to break into the market. After a few missteps, Fossil has finally put together a smartwatch that combines form and function in a way that few pieces of tech aimed specifically at women have been able to match. The Venture is an incredibly stylish smartwatch, helped by the big, bright, and beautiful display.
Fashion-conscious users will be pleased to know that there is a wide range of straps to choose from, each of which gives the watch a completely different look and feel. All the options we have seen so far look great and there is enough variety that there’s something available for everyone.
Wear OS, like the Fossil watch, had a rocky start when first introduced to the smartphone market, but it too has been refined and developed into a very capable and intuitive operating system. The version of Wear OS found in Fossil’s watches today is a significant improvement on previous iterations.
With both GPS and NFC included, the Fossil Venture is practical as well as stylish. It also comes with all the sensors you need to monitor your exercise and heart rate.
Specifications:
- Operating system: Wear OS
- Functions: Activity tracker, music control, GPS, NFC, heart rate monitor
- Sensors: Accelerometer, Altimeter, Ambient Light, Gyroscope, Heart Rate, Microphone, NFC, Untethered GPS
Pros
Cons
2. Runner-Up Best Smart watch for Women- Fossil Women's Sport Metal and Silicone ()
Why We Chose This Product:
This is another Fossil SmartWatch that does not disappoint when it comes to aesthetics. Fossil has mastered the art of producing small and lightweight smartwatches that managed to retain strong build quality. Unlike The Fossil Venture, the Fossil Sport utilizes metal and silicone for a much more robust build that you can wear during activity without having to worry about accidentally damaging it.
Not only can the fossil Sport withstand physical shops, but it is also one of the relatively few smartwatches that are suitable for swimming. Google FIt serves as your digital fitness companion and does a fantastic job of recording and tracking your most important statistics. If you have an Android phone to pair the Fossil Sport with, you can integrate your data across devices easily.
While this is clearly a smartwatch aimed primarily at the more active user, it also performs admirably during downtime. A powerful onboard processor coupled with a wide range of features leads to excellent performance regardless of which of the watches many capabilities you are taking advantage of. Another confidence builder is Victor Dietrich rated the mens version third on his list of waterproof watches.
Specifications:
- Operating system: Wear OS
- Functions: Google Pay/NFC, GPS, heart rate monitor
- Sensors: Accelerometer, Altimeter, Ambient Light, Gyroscope, Heart Rate, Microphone, NFC, Untethered GPS
Pros
Cons
3. Third Best Smartwatch for Women-Michael Kors Access Gen 4 Runway Smartwatch()
Why We Chose This Product:
Many people are fans of the smartwatch aesthetic. For the most part, smartwatches look quite different from a regular watch, and for lots of women, this is a big part of their appeal. However, some women are looking for a smartwatch that more closely resembles a conventional watch. For these people, options have been relatively limited as most manufacturers have instead prioritized making their smartwatches look more sleek and modern.
The Access Runway from Michael Kors breaks with this tradition and is all the better for it. This smartwatch closely resembles a traditional watch and is able to pull off the effect thanks to the inclusion of what is definitely one of the best displays that we have ever seen in a smartwatch. At a glance, the watch face is a convincing facsimile of a conventional mechanical watch.
The inclusion of GPS in a smartwatch is essential at this price point and we are happy to report that the Access Runway is no exception. Many smartwatches running the same version of Wear OS as the Access Runway have suffered from a slow and unresponsive GPS service. That isn’t an issue here, thanks to an impressive internal configuration.
Specifications:
- Operating system: Wear OS
- Functions: control camera, control music, find my phone, NFC
- Sensors: Accelerometer, heart rate monitor, gyroscope, ambient light sensor
Pros
Cons
4. Forth Best Smart watch for Women-Michael Kors Access Gen 3 Sofie ()
Why We Chose This Product:
Like Michael Kors’ other smartwatches, the display adorning the center of this watch’s face in big and bold providing a crisp viewing experience. Surrounding the display is a sturdy stainless steel case that, in spite of its solid feel, is light and still looks stylish. The watch has an impressively small and thin profile given the prevalence of steel in its design, which is ideal for ladies with a slim wrist.
However, while this is one of the best smartwatches out there to look at, in terms of its real-world performance, it leaves a lot to be desired. For one thing, basic features like NFC and GPS are missing - something that is irritating at this price point.
Keeping that big display running also takes a toll on the battery life, which is way too low for many women.
Specifications:
- Operating system: Wear OS
- Functions: pedometer
- Sensors: Accelerometer, gyroscope, ambient light sensor
Pros
Cons
5. Fifth Best Smartwatch for Women- Skagen Connected Falster 3 Gen 5 Stainless Steel ()
Why We Chose This Product:
It’s hard to know where to being with the Skagen Falster, it is an incredible smartwatch. All of the watches on this list are stylish and none of them would look out of place on a woman’s wrist. Skagen has managed to deftly blend the modern design principles of a smartwatch with the classic design touches that have guided watchmaking for a century.
Of course, looking great is only half the battle with a smartwatch. Fortunately, the Falster 3 boasts a powerful internal processor along with a full suite of sensors. The result is that the Falster is able to keep up with you, whatever you might be doing, and you can seamlessly switch between apps and services as you need them.
A generous battery is able to maintain power to all of these internal components and keep the main display shining bright all day without any issues.
When you consider all of these factors together, you have what is quite possibly the best Wear OS smartwatch that we have ever seen. It does still suffer from a minor fault that plagues every Android-focused watch on the market today and that is that it is unreliable when it comes to pairing with iOS. iPhone users might want to think carefully before they invest in a high-end Wear OS watch. But, with that caveat in mind, the Falster 3 is by far the most all-round capable smartwatch on this list.
Specifications:
- Operating system: Wear OS
- Functions: GPS, NFC, heart rate monitor, smartphone control, built-in speaker, swim-proof
- Sensors: Accelerometer, Altimeter, Ambient Light, Gyroscope, Heart Rate, Microphone, NFC, Untethered GPS

Cons
